Festival regular, John Metcalfe, is planning to ride to the festival from Kendal and is inviting you to join him. Here are the key details:
Meet: 10am, Friday 24 May 2019 at Oxenholme Station or at John’s house, 4 miles away. Email him to arrange things (you can email him at
[email protected]).
Route to Clitheroe: From Kendal, through the Forest of Bowland to Clitheroe. You can see John’s proposed route here.
Return journey: If you want to make the return journey, John will be heading back on Sunday via Settle, Clapham, Austwick and Kirkby Lonsdale back to Kendal. He will probably camp in Austwick. Alternatively, you could follow the route yourself on Monday. You can see John’s proposed route here.
Cafe stop: Hornby/Wray (and Slaidburn via a 2 mile detour if the group wants to).
Coming up the day before? John has kindly offered camping in his garden (he lives in Sizergh). Alternatively, check out the Bike Bothy, which is nearby.
Transport: Oxenholme station in Kendal is on the West Coast mainline. Alternatively, if coming up by car, John has offered that you can leave it at his house.
Questions? Contact John by emailing him ([email protected])
