As part of the Cycle Touring Festival 2024, we are hosting a dedicated session on the afternoon of Sunday 5 May, all about family cycle touring.
If you’re curious about cycling holidays with your offspring, come along and have all your questions answered. Equally, if you’re a bit of a pro, please come and share your experience. All are welcome, whether you fancy single-night bikepacking trips or are thinking of heading off for several months with kids in tow.
We’re delighted that Karen Gee of Cycle Sprog will be joining us to talk about family cycling equipment, with practical demonstrations from the incredibly knowledgeable Chris Leakey. We’ll also have talks from families who have been on cycling adventures, to inspire you to get on the road yourself, discussions about camping with babies & toddlers, plus activities to keep the kids occupied.
If you are coming to the main festival, the family session is included in your regular ticket. However, we understand that it can be difficult to set aside a whole weekend with children, so we’re offering a special Sunday Family Ticket, which will give you access to the family session during the festival from 1pm – 4pm on Sunday afternoon. Tickets are £20 and that covers you for up to two adults and however many children you’re bringing. There’s free tea, coffee and squash – just bring your own cup/bottle.
If you want to know more about the festival itself, you can read about it here.
